Health care company in Gainesville seeking Personal care Assistants in the Gainesville/Northeast Georgia area.

Job Description

The Home Companion/Personal Care Assistant provides specifically defined, non-medical care services. The PCA is a home care employee who provides personal care and homemaking services in the home setting to clients and families who are unable to perform these activities independently.

Minimum Requirements

• CNA certified in the state of Georgia. Must be listed on the Georgia DHR Nurse Aide Registry

• Minimum age of 18 years old

• Must have current TB test and CPR/First Aid certificates

• Ability to pass background check, driving record check and drug test

• Have valid driver’s license and possible limited use of an insured automobile for work (must provide documentation of such) or access to adequate transportation

• High school graduate or G.E.D. certificate preferred.

• Successfully complete a written Competency Evaluation

• Must have a sympathetic attitude toward the care of the sick and elderly, and the ability to deal effectively with the demands of the job.

Essential Functions

• Assist clients with activities of daily living (including personal hygiene, dressing and undressing, eating, transferring from bed to chair and back, elimination, moving around)

• Performs work under the supervision of the Staffing Coordinator/Operations Manager.

• Performs homemaking activities which may include, but is not limited to: vacuuming, dusting, sweeping or mopping floors,changing bed linens, laundry, and cleaning bathrooms.

• Prepares meals and snacks for client according to client/family and supervisor’s instructions. May perform grocery shopping (if prearranged by supervisor).

• Provides companionship for the client including accompanying client on walks, trips to social/recreational/other required activities, assistance with hobbies or avocations, etc.

• The homemaker is responsible for written documentation of service provided.
