Health care company in Gainesville seeking Personal care Assistants in the Gainesville/Northeast Georgia area.
Job Description
The Home Companion/Personal Care Assistant provides specifically defined, non-medical care services. The PCA is a home care employee who provides personal care and homemaking services in the home setting to clients and families who are unable to perform these activities independently.
Minimum Requirements
CNA certified in the state of Georgia. Must be listed on the Georgia DHR Nurse Aide Registry
Minimum age of 18 years old
Must have current TB test and CPR/First Aid certificates
Ability to pass background check, driving record check and drug test
Have valid drivers license and possible limited use of an insured automobile for work (must provide documentation of such) or access to adequate transportation
High school graduate or G.E.D. certificate preferred.
Successfully complete a written Competency Evaluation
Must have a sympathetic attitude toward the care of the sick and elderly, and the ability to deal effectively with the demands of the job.
Essential Functions
Assist clients with activities of daily living (including personal hygiene, dressing and undressing, eating, transferring from bed to chair and back, elimination, moving around)
Performs work under the supervision of the Staffing Coordinator/Operations Manager.
Performs homemaking activities which may include, but is not limited to: vacuuming, dusting, sweeping or mopping floors,changing bed linens, laundry, and cleaning bathrooms.
Prepares meals and snacks for client according to client/family and supervisors instructions. May perform grocery shopping (if prearranged by supervisor).
Provides companionship for the client including accompanying client on walks, trips to social/recreational/other required activities, assistance with hobbies or avocations, etc.
The homemaker is responsible for written documentation of service provided.
