Ophthalmic Tech/Assistant for Product Training Specialist (Chicagoland area)

Local high tech ophthalmic equipment provider seeking experienced ophthalmic assistant/technician to train medical staff and support sales functions in various practices through out the Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana area. Position is part-time as needed with flexible hours and days. Experience with high tech instruments such as: digital fundus cameras, HRT, OCT, GDX, Corneal topographers, A/B scans is required. Candidate must be enthusiastic, professional, and willing to travel as much as 3-5 days a month. Candidate will be responsible for installation and training on ophthalmic instruments. Installation duties include uncrating, assembly, lifting 30-60 lbs, installation and troubleshooting software components. Training duties include product demonstration, teaching of software skills, and image acquisition. Candidate will be compensated on contract basis for installation and training on new equipment in addition to travel expenses. Product specific training will be provided. Contract rate is based on experience, qualifications and complexity of installation. Reliable transportation is a must.
