Planned Parenthood Los Angeles is seeking an energetic and caring individual with excellent clerical, communication, and customer service skills to work at the Long Beach Health Center on a part-time basis (Mon, Weds, Fri) as our Reproductive Health Assistant.
Essential Functions:
This position is responsible for all supporting functions in the delivery of reproductive health care services. Duties also include, but are not limited to:
- Performs all Medical Assistant front and back office functions
- Assists patients by providing testing, screening, and education
- Provides non-judgmental, empathetic education and communication on options for patients
- Adheres to agencys policies, procedures and protocols
- This may include successfully completing agency, regional and/or state certification requirements

- Ability to work independently and as a team member
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to relate to diverse communities
- Possess a warm, caring manner
- Accuracy and attention to detail essential
- Ability to read and implement written instructions
- Ability to physically assist a patient in distress
- Computer skills desirable
- Professional appearance and attitude
- Availability to work flexible hours, as required
- Some positions require bilingual skills and/or venipuncture certification
- May require valid CA drivers license and a reliable means of transportation
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in clinical setting desired
- Reproductive health care experience desirable
- Basic computer (i.e., Windows, e-mail and keyboard) skills
- Venipuncture and Injection Certification (to be completed within three months)
