Experienced Veterinary Assistant needed to fill a full time position at a fast paced small animal hospital. Must have previous experience working in a hospital setting. Must be skilled in venipuncture, surgical prep, surgical monitoring, radiology, basic nursing care, dentistry and basic animal husbandry. Must be able to multi-task, answer multiple phone lines, schedule appointments and provide professional care.
Hours of operation are Monday through Saturday, Closed on Sunday. This position will require occasional Sunday duty. Dependable attendance is required. Duties will include, but are not limited to: client education, patient assessment, vaccine injections, and collection of blood, feces and urine to submit for analysis. Perform routine nursing care for hospitalized patients. Assist with outpatient procedures, surgery, dentistry, housekeeping and maintenance of facility and equipment.
